The Joint Program in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Texas is pleased to announce that the 40th annual Ancient Philosophy Workshop will be held this year in Austin. In keeping with workshop tradition, we invite proposals on any problem, figure, or issue in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. Workshop sessions will begin on Friday morning, February 24, and conclude Saturday evening, February 25. Each paper will be allotted forty minutes for oral presentation in order to allow for both a prepared response and open discussion.
To propose a paper, send a 1-page abstract of 300-500 words to evansmatt@utexas.edu under the subject heading “Workshop Proposal.” Please provide your contact information in the email but no identifying information in the abstract itself.
Proposals are due no later than Friday, December 2, 2016.
Proposers will be notified of selections by Friday, December 16.
Papers will be due to respondents by Friday, January 27, 2017.
